At just 22 years old, Maria arrived at REMAR Orphanage in El Salvador. She never left.
Today, she runs a home for 50+ orphaned children, and even built a school to protect them from bullying. That school now also welcomes children from the local village, creating a ripple of education and safety far beyond the orphanage walls.
But behind the smiles is a daily battle.
