When Freddie first came to see me, his story spoke louder than words.
At just 2 years old, Freddie has already faced more challenges than many do in a lifetime.
Born after a long and traumatic labour ending in an emergency caesarean, he arrived with a deep cut on his head from failed forceps, needing immediate antibiotics and care.
He’s now navigating life with a diagnosis of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), digestive discomfort, and overwhelming sensory issues.
He’s not yet speaking.
He’s not yet potty trained.
And yet, his presence is powerful, his energy unmistakable.
What makes this story even more remarkable is the love surrounding him.
His parents travel 2.5 hours one way just to bring him to me for treatment.
Their unwavering belief in his potential, and their willingness to go the extra mile, quite literally reflects the hope that lives at the heart of this journey.
His mother shares a pregnancy marked by intense anxiety, a labour that didn’t go as hoped, and a little boy who’s been in a state of internal overwhelm since day one.
But this is not a story of despair.
This is a story of possibility.
I’ve begun treating Freddie using cranial osteopathy and hands-on, intuitive healing to help calm his nervous system, support his gut, and reconnect his body with its innate blueprint for balance.
As Freddie’s healing unfolds, I’ll be documenting each step, the shifts, the moments of stillness, the sparks of change and sharing them here.
Because every child deserves the chance to thrive, not just survive.
And sometimes, what looks like a diagnosis… is really just the body asking to be heard
Because healing begins with being seen — and believed in.
Freddie’s story is only just beginning.
Yes he slept for 2 hours, we had a lot of eye contact tonight so feeling very positive 😍❤️
Just wanted to let you know my nan’s been with me today with Fred and he never looks at her. She’s left crying — he’s been hugging her and feeding her crisps, bringing her toys 🥹❤️
I guess I don’t notice as much because he’s very affectionate with me xxxxx
Freddie’s first session was emotional — for everyone.
He cried. He kicked. He screamed.
His little body fiercely protested being laid down, and to his parents — new to this kind of therapy — it looked and felt like nothing helpful could possibly be happening.
But healing doesn’t always look peaceful at the start.
To the untrained eye, it can seem as though the child is simply distressed.
But what we often witness in the first session is the nervous system meeting resistance — releasing stored tension, unravelling layers of overwhelm, and recalibrating safety.
Within a day, Freddie’s mum and dad began to notice gentle yet profound shifts…
✨ Eye contact with his aunty, along with a smile that moved her to tears
✨ Following instructions more clearly during a garden party
✨ Looking at both his mum and grandmother with curiosity and connection — where before he would avoid looking at two people at once
These moments may seem small, but in the world of nervous system healing, they’re monumental.
They tell us something important:
The body is listening.
The brain is shifting.
The child is beginning to feel safe enough to connect.
Freddie’s journey has only just begun — and already, his inner light is starting to emerge.
Freddie’s second session began just like the first — with tears and resistance, his little body wrestling to get off the couch, unsure of what was coming.
But something had shifted.
There was no kicking this time.
No frantic panic.
Just protest… and presence.
And then — a moment none of us expected.
As the session drew to a close, Freddie suddenly became completely still. He lay down. He surrendered. And for the first time, I was able to treat his system in total stillness. That moment alone brought tears to my eyes.
But the magic didn’t stop there.
When we finished, Freddie sprang up full of joy — running around the room, his energy light and free. And then, another wave of emotion came… when his dad picked him up.
Freddie simply rested calmly in his father’s arms, soft and peaceful.
No tension. No fight.
Just stillness.
It moved us both to tears.
This is what nervous system healing looks like — from chaos to calm, from overwhelm to safety.
It’s not linear.
It’s not always quiet.
But when it lands, it’s unmistakable.
Freddie is finding his way home — one brave moment at a time.
