Many people believe they are their emotions.
The fear. The overwhelm. The sudden rush of panic or shutdown.
I want to offer you a different way to see what is happening inside you.
I imagine the emotional system like a busy airport.
Inside are many flights- fear, anger, shame, sadness, confidence, calm. Each one wants attention.
Some are loud and urgent, pushing forward when something feels uncomfortable or threatening.
Others are quiet and steady, waiting patiently in the background.
For years, many of us believe we are the planes themselves, swept along by whichever emotion takes the runway.
But we are not.
We are the air traffic controller.
I watch the inner activity without being consumed by it.
I decide what energy is allowed to move forward and what must pause. Fear can flash its lights and demand priority, yet I choose whether it gets clearance.
This is where true healing begins.
In the moment of awareness.
In the pause between stimulus and response.
You do not have to board every emotional flight.
You do not have to follow every impulse.
You are the one directing the flow.
And as this becomes practise, calm replaces chaos and clarity replaces reaction.
You are not the storm.
You are the one guiding the sky.
